- Automatic power on-off controlled by micro-switch, which is activated by raising or lowering the carriage
- Makes precise adjustments; two micrometer knobs adjust depth and spacing (distance between cutter guide and cobalt steel cutter)
- Has a spring loaded key gauge that automatically releases as the carriage is raised; also has vise jaws with ratchet type handles
- Lever operated, it is equipped with reversible, extra wide vise jaws that securely clamp residential, padlock, double-sided automotive keys, and longer/larger headed keys such as rubber head keys and hotel/motel keys
