    Rim exit devices are the simplest and most common configuration — the latch engages the strike at the edge of the door. One device, one strike, one installation.

    The Sargent 16-8873G-12V-ETL-RHR-10B is a Grade 1 rim exit device from the 80 Series for 48" openings with Fail Safe function.

Stand OUTSIDE the door and face it: if the hinges are on the LEFT, it's Left Hand (LH). If the hinges are on the RIGHT, it's Right Hand (RH). For doors that swing toward you, add 'Reverse' — LHR or RHR.
