Von Duprin 6121 Electric Strike —
The Von Duprin 6121 is an open-back electric strike for double door applications without a mullion. Retrofits Folger Adam 310-4-100 strikes. The 9-1/8" faceplate and open-back design accommodate pair-door configurations where there's no center post. Heavy-duty stainless steel with 3/4" throw. Factory configured as fail safe — power cuts, strike releases. 12VDC operation. Compatible with standard rim exit devices from Von Duprin, Falcon, Precision, Sargent. Fire rated UL 10C. The only 6100 series model specifically for mullion-less pairs.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When cutting the frame, double-check the strike pocket depth against the template before routing. The 61xx series needs a clean pocket — any debris behind the strike body will cause binding on the latchbolt.
