Von Duprin 6215 Electric Strike — Satin Stainless Steel
The Von Duprin 6215 is a drop-in replacement for HES 5000 series electric strikes. Same cutout dimensions, same mounting holes — swap one for the other without touching the frame. Upgraded to Von Duprin's heavy-duty stainless construction. Factory configured as fail safe with dual signal monitoring switch. 12VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. If you're pulling HES 5000s and stepping up to Von Duprin quality, this is your part number.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
