    When ordering RCI electric strikes, pay close attention to the "mode." Fail-Secure (unlocked when energized) is for standard security, while Fail-Safe (unlocked when power is lost) is often required by fire code for life-safety doors. Many RCI strikes are field-reversible, allowing you to switch modes with a simple internal adjustment before installation.

    Yes. Most RCI strikes include a simple internal switch or jumper that allows you to change between Fail-Safe and Fail-Secure modes on-site without additional parts.

    Do RCI strikes come with multiple faceplates?

    Yes. RCI kits typically include ANSI square corner, radius corner, and center-hung faceplates so you can adapt to the frame type on the job site.

    Can I use an RCI maglock on a fire-rated door?

    Yes, but it must be wired as Fail-Safe and connected to the fire alarm system for automatic release during an emergency. Always check your local AHJ requirements.
