A: The delay is adjustable from 1 to 30 seconds using a screwdriver on the unit. Most facilities set it between 5-15 seconds — long enough for normal pass-through, short enough to catch propping. The alarm only sounds if the door stays open past your set delay.
Q: What's the difference between surface mount (S) and flush mount (F)?
A: Surface mount (EAX-2500S) attaches to the face of the door frame — easier to install, visible. Flush mount (EAX-2500F) recesses into the frame header — cleaner look, harder to tamper with, but requires a routed pocket in the frame.
Q: Does the EAX-2500 work on double doors?
A: The EAX-2500 monitors one door leaf. For double doors, you need one unit per leaf or a single unit with the magnetic contact positioned to monitor the active leaf. Call us to spec the right configuration for your opening.
