Product Description
ECL-230X-IP Detex Exit Control Lock with Deadbolt — Alarmed Deadbolt Panic Device — Premium, Gray
High-security secondary exits in schools, government buildings, and retail backrooms need more than a latch — they need a deadbolt that still meets panic hardware code. The ECL-230X delivers deadbolt-level security with full panic compliance. The Detex ECL-230X solves this — Premium alarmed deadbolt panic device with maximum security. The 230X adds hardened deadbolt security over the 230D for higher-threat applications. Photo-luminescent sign included.

Pro-Installer FAQ
How long does the 9V battery last?
Under normal conditions (1-2 alarm activations per day), expect 1-3 years of battery life. The alarm draws current only when activated. We recommend annual battery replacement as part of your door hardware inspection schedule.
Can this be used on a fire-rated door?
The ECL series is UL listed panic hardware and can be used on fire-rated openings where panic hardware is required. Verify with your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for your specific door assembly configuration.
What's the difference between the ECL-230D and ECL-230X?
The 230X has a hardened deadbolt for higher security applications and includes a photo-luminescent sign. The 230D is the standard-duty version. Both produce 100dB alarm and meet the same code requirements.
