Bottom latch and rod kits replace the lower latching mechanism on vertical rod exit devices. When the bottom bolt stops engaging the floor strike — either from wear, damage, or misalignment — this kit gets it back in service without replacing the whole device.
Compatible with: Von Duprin 33/35 Series exit devices.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When installing a new bottom rod, check the floor strike alignment with the door closed. If the bolt hits the edge of the strike instead of centering, shim the strike before blaming the rod kit. Most 'defective bottom rod' calls are actually strike alignment issues.
