Concealed vertical rod devices hide the rods inside the door for a cleaner appearance. The trade-off for better aesthetics? The door must be prepped for internal rod routing, and field service requires removing the push bar.
The Sargent 12-MD8606J-ETW-RHR-3 is a fire-rated Grade 1 concealed vertical rod exit device from the 80 Series for 42" openings with Storeroom function — outside trim is always locked, key required for every entry. Push bar always operates from inside for emergency egress. UL listed for fire-rated openings up to 3 hours.
