Rim exit devices are the simplest and most common configuration — the latch engages the strike at the edge of the door. One device, one strike, one installation.
The Sargent 125556-8874F-10 is a fire-rated Grade 1 rim exit device from the 80 Series for 36" openings with Exit Only function. UL listed for fire-rated openings up to 3 hours.
Fire Rated (12- prefix) — This device is UL listed for fire-rated openings. Do NOT substitute a non-fire-rated device (8- prefix) on a fire-rated opening — your fire marshal will require removal and replacement.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: Fire-rated exit devices (12- prefix) are NOT interchangeable with non-fire-rated (8- prefix). Your fire marshal will make you rip out a non-fire-rated device installed on a fire-rated opening. Always check the door label first.
