Rim exit devices are the simplest and most common configuration — the latch engages the strike at the edge of the door. One device, one strike, one installation.
The Sargent 16-8976E-RHR-10 is a Grade 1 rim exit device from the 80 Series for 32" openings with Exit Only function.

This device is Right Hand Reverse. Exit devices are HANDED and cannot be reversed in the field. Stand outside the door facing it: hinges on the left = Left Hand, hinges on the right = Right Hand. If the door swings toward you, add "Reverse." Verify your handing before ordering.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: Fire-rated exit devices (12- prefix) are NOT interchangeable with non-fire-rated (8- prefix). Your fire marshal will make you rip out a non-fire-rated device installed on a fire-rated opening. Always check the door label first.
