2227L-F-SP313-3-LHR Von Duprin 22 Series with Left Handed 230L Lever Fire Rated Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device in Duranodic Dark Bronze
The Von Duprin 2227L-F-SP313-3-LHR is a wide stile surface vertical rod exit device for pairs of aluminum storefront doors where both leaves need to be active. Lever Trim — outside lever retracts the latch for entry. Lever operation controlled by cylinder on keyed functions. Ships less cylinder — order a mortise cylinder separately to match your existing keyway.
The 2227 latches at the header and threshold instead of the strike jamb — the standard choice when two active leaves share a single opening. Surface-mounted rods are visible on the door face. Available in 3-foot width. UL listed for fire exit hardware — no mechanical dogging on fire-rated models. ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: Fire-rated 2227-F models do NOT have mechanical dogging. That's UL code — fire doors must remain latched at all times. If the customer wants the doors to stay open during business hours, you need a magnetic hold-open device tied to the fire alarm system.
