Rim exit devices are the simplest and most common configuration — the latch engages the strike at the edge of the door. One device, one strike, one installation.
The Sargent 43-8888E-10 is a Grade 1 rim exit device from the 80 Series for 32" openings with Exit Only function.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When specifying exit devices for double doors without a mullion, each leaf gets its own device. The active leaf (with the lock) gets the full device with trim. The inactive leaf gets a dummy push bar or flush bolt setup depending on the spec.
