5547NL-US4 Von Duprin 5547 Series with 550NL Night Latch - Concealed Vertical Rod Device in Satin Brass
The Von Duprin 5547NL-US4 is a narrow stile concealed vertical rod exit device that hides the rods inside the door stile for a clean, unobstructed look on glass and aluminum doors. Night Latch — outside lever locks and unlocks by key, inside always free for egress. When locked, key is required for re-entry from outside. Ships less cylinder — order a mortise cylinder separately to match your existing keyway.
The 5547 is the top-and-bottom latching version of the 55 Series — it secures at the header and threshold instead of the strike jamb, making it the standard choice for pairs of narrow stile doors. Concealed rods mean nothing shows on the door face. This is a handed device — verify LHR or RHR before ordering. UL listed for panic exit hardware with hex key dogging standard. ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: The 5547 concealed vertical rod is the cleanest look you can get on a pair of narrow stile glass doors. The rods hide inside the stile, so there's nothing visible on the door face. But concealed rods need precise alignment — if the door sags even 1/8", the top rod won't engage the strike.
