5547WDC-NL-F-US3 Von Duprin 5547 Series with 556NL Night Latch Fire Rated Wood Door Concealed Vertical Rod Device in Bright Brass
The Von Duprin 5547WDC-NL-F-US3 is a narrow stile concealed vertical rod exit device that hides the rods inside the door stile for a clean, unobstructed look on glass and aluminum doors. Night Latch — outside lever locks and unlocks by key, inside always free for egress. When locked, key is required for re-entry from outside. Ships less cylinder — order a mortise cylinder separately to match your existing keyway.
The 5547 is the top-and-bottom latching version of the 55 Series — it secures at the header and threshold instead of the strike jamb, making it the standard choice for pairs of narrow stile doors. Concealed rods mean nothing shows on the door face. This is a handed device — verify RHR or RHR before ordering. UL listed for fire exit hardware — no mechanical dogging on fire-rated models. ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: Fire-rated 5547-F models do not include dogging. That's code — fire doors must remain latched at all times. If the spec calls for a fire-rated narrow stile CVR, make sure the end user knows the door won't stay open without a separate hold-open device tied to the fire alarm.
