    The Sargent 60-8227-LW1L-10B is a Storeroom function mortise lock from the 8200 Series — Sargent's flagship commercial mortise platform that's been trusted on schools, hospitals, office buildings, and government facilities for decades. Storeroom function means the outside lever is always locked — you need a key every single time you enter. Inside lever is always free for egress. No one can accidentally leave this door unlocked.

    LFIC Prep — Ships With Housing, Less Core — The 60- prefix means this lock ships with an LFIC housing (cylinder) instead of a standard pinned cylinder. Install the lock in the door first, then screw the LFIC housing into the lock body like any mortise cylinder. Order your LFIC core separately to match your building's keyway — the core snaps into the housing with a control key. No re-pinning, no tools, swap takes 10 seconds. That's why universities and hospitals love LFIC — one lost key doesn't mean rekeying a whole building.

    This one comes with LW1 Escutcheon, L Lever in Oil Rubbed Bronze — the 10B finish with a living patina that develops character over time. Popular in boutique hotels, upscale restaurants, and residential-feeling commercial spaces.

    The L lever is Sargent's straight-design commercial lever — clean lines, ADA compliant, gets the job done without drawing attention to itself. The lever that disappears into the building.
