Von Duprin 6112 Electric Strike — Bright Brass
The Von Duprin 6112 is built for retrofit jobs replacing Folger Adam 310-4 strikes. The 9" faceplate covers the existing FA cutout — no patching, no re-routing. Heavy-duty stainless steel construction with 3/4" throw. Compatible with Von Duprin, Falcon, Precision, Sargent, and Yale rim exit devices. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. UL 10C fire rated to 3 hours on singles, 90 minutes on pairs with mullion. If you're pulling old Folger Adam 310-4s, this is the replacement Von Duprin engineered for that exact application.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Safe strike — it unlocks on power loss for life safety egress. That's what you want on most fire-rated doors and emergency exits. If you need it to stay locked during a power outage, order the FS (Fail Secure) version instead. When cutting the frame, double-check the strike pocket depth against the template before routing. The 61xx series needs a clean pocket — any debris behind the strike body will cause binding on the latchbolt.
