Von Duprin 6114 Electric Strike — Satin Brass
The Von Duprin 6114 is a surface-applied electric strike designed for Folger Adam 310-5 retrofit. The 7-1/2" faceplate and surface mount design means no deep routing — bolts right to the frame face. Built for rim nightlatch applications. Heavy-duty stainless steel. Factory configured as fail safe — power cuts, strike releases. 24VDC operation. Note: mounting hole locations differ from the original FA 310-5, so you'll need to drill new holes. If you're upgrading old FA 310-5 nightlatch strikes, this is your part.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When cutting the frame, double-check the strike pocket depth against the template before routing. The 61xx series needs a clean pocket — any debris behind the strike body will cause binding on the latchbolt. This is a 24VDC model — make sure your power supply matches. Von Duprin PS914 or PS904 are the go-to supplies for 24V strike installations.
