Von Duprin 6210 Electric Strike —
The Von Duprin 6210 is designed for mortise locksets. Standard 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" ANSI mortise cutout with integrated faceplate. Heavy-duty stainless steel construction handles high-traffic commercial doors. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. Works with Schlage L-series, Corbin Russwin ML2000, Sargent 8200, and most ANSI mortise locks. Fire rated UL 10C to 3 hours. If you're adding access control to a door with a mortise lock, the 6210 is the standard choice.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Secure strike — it stays locked when power is lost, with key override from outside. Free egress from inside is always provided by the exit device itself, not by the strike. If you need the opening to release on power loss instead, order the FS version. Make sure you check the latchbolt throw on the existing lockset before ordering. The 62xx series is designed for a 1/2" latch throw — if you've got a mortise lock with a 3/4" or 1" bolt, you need the 6221 instead.
