Von Duprin 6210 Electric Strike — Satin Stainless Steel
The Von Duprin 6210 is designed for mortise locksets. Standard 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" ANSI mortise cutout with integrated faceplate. Heavy-duty stainless steel construction handles high-traffic commercial doors. Equipped with a dual signal low-current switch for monitoring systems requiring minimal current draw. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Works with Schlage L-series, Corbin Russwin ML2000, Sargent 8200, and most ANSI mortise locks. Fire rated UL 10C to 3 hours. If you're adding access control to a door with a mortise lock, the 6210 is the standard choice.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: Make sure you check the latchbolt throw on the existing lockset before ordering. The 62xx series is designed for a 1/2" latch throw — if you've got a mortise lock with a 3/4" or 1" bolt, you need the 6221 instead. This is a 24VDC model — make sure your power supply matches. Von Duprin PS914 or PS904 are the go-to supplies for 24V strike installations.
