Von Duprin 6212WF Electric Strike — Satin Stainless Steel
The Von Duprin 6212WF combines the round-corner prep of the 6212 with an oversized wide faceplate. Built for retrofit jobs where you need to cover a larger cutout on a round-prep frame. Same stainless internals. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. When the existing round-corner cutout is oversized or damaged, this wide face covers it without blocking or frame repair.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Secure strike — it stays locked when power is lost, with key override from outside. Free egress from inside is always provided by the exit device itself, not by the strike. If you need the opening to release on power loss instead, order the FS version. The deadbolt monitoring on the 6212 tells you whether the mortise lock is deadbolted — not just whether the door is closed. That's critical for high-security applications where you need to verify the door is actually locked, not just latched.
