Von Duprin 6213 Electric Strike — Bright Brass
The Von Duprin 6213 is the direct replacement for the older Von Duprin 6200 legacy strikes. Same cutout, same mounting pattern — pull the old 6200 and drop this in. Upgraded stainless steel construction and modern solenoid design. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. If you're maintaining a building with original VD 6200 strikes, this is the factory-engineered upgrade path.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Safe strike — it unlocks on power loss for life safety egress. That's what you want on most fire-rated doors and emergency exits. If you need it to stay locked during a power outage, order the FS (Fail Secure) version instead.
