Von Duprin 6214 Electric Strike — Oil Rubbed Bronze
The Von Duprin 6214 has a compact body designed specifically for 1-3/4" door applications where frame depth is tight. Same heavy-duty stainless construction as the rest of the 6200 line. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. When the frame won't accept a standard-depth strike body, the 6214's shallow profile gets the job done. Check your frame depth before ordering.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Safe strike — it unlocks on power loss for life safety egress. That's what you want on most fire-rated doors and emergency exits. If you need it to stay locked during a power outage, order the FS (Fail Secure) version instead. This is a 24VDC model — make sure your power supply matches. Von Duprin PS914 or PS904 are the go-to supplies for 24V strike installations.
