Von Duprin 6216 Electric Strike — Satin Stainless Steel
The Von Duprin 6216 is a narrow-stile electric strike for Adams Rite 4500/4700 series deadlatch locks on aluminum storefront doors. The narrow body fits standard narrow-stile frame preparations. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. This is the strike you need when the door has an Adams Rite deadlatch and you want electric release for access control. Works with most narrow-stile cylindrical deadlatch locks.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.

If you need it to stay locked during a power outage, order the FS (Fail Secure) version instead. The Satin Stainless Steel finish has a brushed silver look that hides fingerprints and cleans up easy — the standard spec for commercial jobs.
