Von Duprin 6222 Electric Strike — Satin Brass
The Von Duprin 6222 is the adjustable-depth open-back strike for 1-3/4" and 2-1/4" doors. Handles thick doors that other strikes can't reach. Open-back design with heavy-duty stainless construction. Factory configured as fail safe — power cuts, strike releases. 12VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. If the door is thicker than standard 1-3/4" and you need open-back clearance, the 6222 is the only model in the line that handles both requirements.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
