Von Duprin 6224 Electric Strike — Satin Stainless Steel
The Von Duprin 6224 adds dual latchbolt monitoring to the cylindrical strike platform. Two independent switches confirm both the latch position and the door status. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. When the access control system needs positive confirmation that the door is actually latched — not just closed — the 6224 provides that dual-signal feedback.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.

If you need it to stay locked during a power outage, order the FS (Fail Secure) version instead.
