Von Duprin 6224AL Electric Strike —
The Von Duprin 6224AL is the aluminum-frame version of the 6224 with dual latchbolt monitoring. Adjustable faceplate geometry for aluminum storefront frames plus two independent position switches. Equipped with a dual signal low-current switch for monitoring systems requiring minimal current draw. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. For aluminum-frame doors where the access control system requires dual latch monitoring, this is the specific model.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
