The Sargent 8270-24V-LW1W-26D is a Fail Safe function mortise lock from the 8200 Series — Sargent's flagship commercial mortise platform that's been trusted on schools, hospitals, office buildings, and government facilities for decades. Fail Safe electric operation wired for 24VDC from your access control panel, card reader, or keypad system. The lock retracts the latch automatically when power is cut — code-required on fire-rated egress doors.
This one comes with LW1 Escutcheon, W Lever in Satin Chrome — the 26D finish you see on 90% of commercial jobs because it hides fingerprints, resists wear, and matches every other piece of hardware in the building. When in doubt, 26D is the safe bet.
