The CD98L-KC-17 4 643E LHR is a Von Duprin 98 Series rim exit device with L-17 Lever trim in Aged Bronze, sized for 4' doors. Key Capture — key is physically captured in the cylinder when lever is unlocked. Must relock to remove key. Ideal for key management in schools, hospitals, and government buildings. Ships less cylinder — order a mortise cylinder separately to match your existing keyway.
Controlled Dismiss — Controlled Dismiss — electrically locks and unlocks the exit device from a remote location. 24VDC.
ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified. Hex key dogging standard. Factory set LHR, field reversible.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When quoting 98 rim devices, check the frame for strike compatibility. The 98 uses a standard rim strike, but on hollow metal frames you may need a longer lip strike if the frame rabbet is deeper than standard. Most callbacks on rim devices are strike alignment — get it right at install.
