Concealed vertical rod devices hide the rods inside the door for a cleaner appearance. The trade-off for better aesthetics? The door must be prepped for internal rod routing, and field service requires removing the push bar.
The Sargent 12-MD8613E-RHR-32 is a fire-rated Grade 1 concealed vertical rod exit device from the 80 Series for 30" openings with Classroom function. UL listed for fire-rated openings up to 3 hours.

Fire Rated (12- prefix) — This device is UL listed for fire-rated openings. Do NOT substitute a non-fire-rated device (8- prefix) on a fire-rated opening — your fire marshal will require removal and replacement.
Bright Stainless — mirror-polished 32 finish for high-end applications where corrosion resistance and visual impact both matter.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: The most expensive exit device mistake we see? Ordering concealed vertical rod for a door that's not prepped for it. CVR devices require internal routing channels in the door — you can't retrofit a standard hollow metal door. If the door isn't prepped, go surface vertical rod instead.
