Product Description
Concealed vertical rod devices hide the rods inside the door for a cleaner appearance. The trade-off for better aesthetics? The door must be prepped for internal rod routing, and field service requires removing the push bar.
The Sargent 12-MD8674J-24V-ETF-RHR-32D is a fire-rated Grade 1 concealed vertical rod exit device from the 80 Series for 42" openings with Fail Secure function. UL listed for fire-rated openings up to 3 hours.

c Lever provides outside access while the push bar handles emergency egress from inside.
This device is Right Hand Reverse. Exit devices are HANDED and cannot be reversed in the field. Stand outside the door facing it: hinges on the left = Left Hand, hinges on the right = Right Hand. If the door swings toward you, add "Reverse." Verify your handing before ordering.
Fire Rated (12- prefix) — This device is UL listed for fire-rated openings. Do NOT substitute a non-fire-rated device (8- prefix) on a fire-rated opening — your fire marshal will require removal and replacement.
Satin Stainless — the 32D finish that laughs at corrosion. Coastal, pool areas, food service, anywhere moisture is a factor. Costs more than chrome but outlasts it 3-to-1 in harsh environments.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When specifying exit devices for double doors without a mullion, each leaf gets its own device. The active leaf (with the lock) gets the full device with trim. The inactive leaf gets a dummy push bar or flush bolt setup depending on the spec.
