This is the replacement plug for a Schlage modular Key-In-Knob/Lever cylinder — the small keyed brass core that carries the pins and takes the key. When a plug wears out, gets picked apart on a rekey, or a customer wants a cylinder rekeyed to a new Classic keyway, you swap the plug rather than buying a whole new cylinder. This one is the 6-pin Classic Standard plug cut for the C keyway in 626 satin chrome.

"Modular" is the part that trips people up. Schlage's modular cylinders are built so the plug is a discrete component you can pull and replace — this plug drops into the Key-In-Knob/Lever modular cylinder housings, not into a mortise or rim cylinder. It is drilled for 6 pins and runs on Schlage's Classic (Obverse) keying, which is the standard open C section — no restricted-keyway adder, no Primus, no Everest. If your building is keyed on plain Classic C, this is the plug that matches it.

Get the keyway right before you order. A plug cut for C will not accept a key from a CE, E, F, or any other section, and it will not work in an Everest or Primus system.
