The 4580-500 is the factory cam disc for Adams Rite aluminum-door deadlatch cylinders on a left-hand door 1-3/4" thick. The cam disc is the part that translates key rotation in the cylinder into throw on the latch — worn, wrong-handed, or wrong-thickness discs are a common cause of a key that turns but will not retract the latch. Order the disc that matches your door handing and thickness so the cylinder seats and cams correctly.
