Von Duprin 6114 Electric Strike — Bright Brass
The Von Duprin 6114 is a surface-applied electric strike designed for Folger Adam 310-5 retrofit. The 7-1/2" faceplate and surface mount design means no deep routing — bolts right to the frame face. Built for rim nightlatch applications. Heavy-duty stainless steel. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Note: mounting hole locations differ from the original FA 310-5, so you'll need to drill new holes. If you're upgrading old FA 310-5 nightlatch strikes, this is your part.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Secure strike — it stays locked when power is lost, with key override from outside. Free egress from inside is always provided by the exit device itself, not by the strike. If you need the opening to release on power loss instead, order the FS version. When cutting the frame, double-check the strike pocket depth against the template before routing. The 61xx series needs a clean pocket — any debris behind the strike body will cause binding on the latchbolt.
