Von Duprin 6121 Electric Strike — Oil Rubbed Bronze
The Von Duprin 6121 is an open-back electric strike for double door applications without a mullion. Retrofits Folger Adam 310-4-100 strikes. The 9-1/8" faceplate and open-back design accommodate pair-door configurations where there's no center post. Heavy-duty stainless steel with 3/4" throw. Equipped with a dual signal low-current switch for monitoring systems requiring minimal current draw. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. Compatible with standard rim exit devices from Von Duprin, Falcon, Precision, Sargent. Fire rated UL 10C. The only 6100 series model specifically for mullion-less pairs.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage. Required on most fire-rated egress doors for life safety. This is the default for fire exits and emergency egress paths.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: When cutting the frame, double-check the strike pocket depth against the template before routing. The 61xx series needs a clean pocket — any debris behind the strike body will cause binding on the latchbolt. The Oil Rubbed Bronze finish has a dark brown finish with subtle copper highlights — typically spec'd for upscale commercial or ecclesiastical projects.
