Von Duprin 6214 Electric Strike —
The Von Duprin 6214 has a compact body designed specifically for 1-3/4" door applications where frame depth is tight. Same heavy-duty stainless construction as the rest of the 6200 line. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. When the frame won't accept a standard-depth strike body, the 6214's shallow profile gets the job done. Check your frame depth before ordering.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Secure strike — it stays locked when power is lost, with key override from outside. Free egress from inside is always provided by the exit device itself, not by the strike. If you need the opening to release on power loss instead, order the FS version. This is a 24VDC model — make sure your power supply matches. Von Duprin PS914 or PS904 are the go-to supplies for 24V strike installations.
