Product Description
Von Duprin 6215 Electric Strike — Satin Bronze
The Von Duprin 6215 is a drop-in replacement for HES 5000 series electric strikes. Same cutout dimensions, same mounting holes — swap one for the other without touching the frame. Upgraded to Von Duprin's heavy-duty stainless construction. Factory configured as fail secure with 24VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. If you're pulling HES 5000s and stepping up to Von Duprin quality, this is your part number.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Secure strike — it stays locked when power is lost, with key override from outside. Free egress from inside is always provided by the exit device itself, not by the strike. If you need the opening to release on power loss instead, order the FS version. The Satin Bronze finish has a warm, antiqued brown tone — popular in educational and government buildings with traditional interiors.
