Von Duprin 6226 Electric Strike —
The Von Duprin 6226 is a direct replacement for Folger Adam 310-2 strikes. Same prep, designed to drop into the existing FA 310-2 cutout without frame modification. Heavy-duty stainless steel with standard 6200 series reliability. Factory configured as fail secure with 12VDC operation. Fire rated UL 10C. When you're pulling old FA 310-2s and upgrading to Von Duprin, this is the exact retrofit model.
⚡ Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure — What's the Difference?
Fail Safe — Strike unlocks when power is lost. The door can be opened freely during a power outage.
Fail Secure — Strike remains locked when power is lost. Key override is always available from outside. Used for server rooms, evidence rooms, or anywhere security must be maintained during a power failure. The mechanical push bar still allows free egress from inside.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: This is a Fail Secure strike — it stays locked when power is lost, with key override from outside. Free egress from inside is always provided by the exit device itself, not by the strike. If you need the opening to release on power loss instead, order the FS version. Running 12VDC — the PS914 power supply handles both 12V and 24V output, so it's the most versatile option if you're stocking truck supplies.
