ECL-600 Detex Exit Control Rim Lock — Alarmed Rim Panic Device, Gray
Not every door frame supports a deadbolt exit device. The ECL-600 gives you the same 100dB alarm deterrent in a rim-mount configuration that works on hollow metal, aluminum, and narrow stile doors. The Detex ECL-600 solves this — Rim-mounted alarmed exit control lock. Battery-powered 100dB alarm with rim-style mounting for doors where deadbolt configuration isn't ideal.

How long does the 9V battery last?
Under normal conditions (1-2 alarm activations per day), expect 1-3 years of battery life. The alarm draws current only when activated. We recommend annual battery replacement as part of your door hardware inspection schedule.
Can this be used on a fire-rated door?
The ECL series is UL listed panic hardware and can be used on fire-rated openings where panic hardware is required. Verify with your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for your specific door assembly configuration.
What's the difference between the ECL-230D and ECL-230X?
The 230X has a hardened deadbolt for higher security applications and includes a photo-luminescent sign. The 230D is the standard-duty version. Both produce 100dB alarm and meet the same code requirements.
