Product Description
HPC EZ-5 — Spiral Broken Key Extractor (.040")
The spiral extractor every locksmith ends up carrying. When a key snaps off in a cylinder — and it always does, usually on a Friday — this is how you get the fragment out without drilling the lock. The blade is wound in a tight spiral, so you feed it down alongside the broken key, give it a turn, and the spiral teeth bite into the soft brass of the key and pull it out with the blade. No hook to line up, no second chance needed.
This is the .040" thickness — thin enough to slide past a stuck key in most pin-tumbler keyways, stiff enough not to fold when you twist. Stainless steel blade so it doesn't rust in the van, set in a brass handle that gives you something real to grip and rotate. Made in the USA by HPC, who have been building this exact tool for decades.
It also pulls broken pieces of other tools, paperclips, and whatever else a customer jammed in the keyway before they called you. Keep one in every kit — at this price there's no reason to be without it. Sold individually.
