HPC PSA-20 — Padlock Shim Pick Set (20 Piece)
A 20-piece padlock shim set that opens a lot of locks faster than you can pick them. On most laminated padlocks — the steel-layer style that's the single most common padlock in the field — shimming is not the backup plan, it's the fast plan. Wrap the shim around the shackle, work it down into the gap between the shackle and the latch, and it releases the spring lever that holds the lock closed. The lock pops open in seconds, undamaged, and you hand it back working.
The set is built to cover the field instead of one lucky size: it's an assortment of 5 shims in each of the 4 most common shackle diameters, so when you walk up to a padlock you've got the right thickness in hand instead of guessing. It opens almost any lock that uses a spring-lever latch — the large majority of padlocks — as long as there's clearance to get the shim around the shackle. (Ball-bearing locking mechanisms are the exception; those need a different approach.)
Shims are a consumable by nature — they bend and crease with use, which is exactly why this comes as a 20-piece assortment instead of a single tool. Keep the set in the bypass kit and you'll reach for it on padlock calls far more than you expected. Made by HPC.
