Schlage L283-452 RX Module for L9090 Series Electrified Mortise Locks
The L283-452 is Schlage's RX (request-to-exit) switch module for the electrified L Series mortise locks: L9090, L9091, L9092, L9093, L9094 and L9095. It installs in the lock case and closes a switch when someone turns the inside lever to leave.
That signal tells the access control panel the door is being opened from the inside on purpose. The panel uses it to shunt the door-forced alarm, so legitimate exits do not set off an alarm, and to log the exit.
It fits the L909x electrified functions only. It is not for the mechanical L9000 locks, and it is not for the ND or AL cylindrical lines. Check the function number on your lock case before you order.

Q: Does this make my lock electrified?
A: No. It adds a request-to-exit signal to a lock that is already an electrified L909x function. The lock itself is what locks and unlocks.
Q: Where does the wiring go?
A: The RX switch wires back to your access control panel along with the rest of the lock wiring. Follow Schlage's wiring diagram for your function and your panel.
