The Schlage L9457P-17B-630 is the L Series Classroom Security Lock with Deadbolt (ANSI F33, Grade 1) in Satin Stainless Steel (US32D), built on the mortise case that has been the benchmark for commercial door hardware for decades. Key cylinder both sides; deadbolt and latchbolt. Door can be secured or released by key from either side. Classrooms needing both lockdown capability and a deadbolt, operable from inside the room or the corridor. Supports active-shooter lockdown where the teacher secures the deadbolt from within while keeping single-motion egress.
How This Function Operates
Outside: Latchbolt retracted by lever from either side. Outside lever is made inoperative when the deadbolt is thrown by key from either side.
Inside: Rotating the inside lever retracts both the deadbolt and latchbolt and unlocks the outside lever. Inside lever always free for immediate egress.
Key: Key on either side retracts both latchbolt and deadbolt and unlocks the outside lever, so the classroom can be locked down or released from inside or outside.
