The Von Duprin LX78EO-F-US26D-3 is a crossbar rim exit device for storefront and aluminum doors. Exit Only — push bar operation from inside only, no outside trim. Free egress from inside. No cylinder required for this function.
The 78 Series crossbar provides a wide activation zone across the full width of the door — maximum push area for emergency egress. Available in 3-foot width. Non-handed design works for both LHR and RHR door swings. UL listed for fire exit hardware — no mechanical dogging on fire-rated models. ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: Strike alignment is the number one callback on storefront rim devices. The 78 uses the same strike body as the 22 Series — make sure the frame strike pocket is deep enough. On older aluminum frames, you may need a surface-applied strike if the pocket is too shallow.
