The Von Duprin LX78EO-US26-4 is a crossbar rim exit device for storefront and aluminum doors. Exit Only — push bar operation from inside only, no outside trim. Free egress from inside. No cylinder required for this function.
The 78 Series crossbar provides a wide activation zone across the full width of the door — maximum push area for emergency egress. Available in 4-foot width. Non-handed design works for both LHR and RHR door swings. UL listed for panic exit hardware with hex key dogging standard. ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified.
Pro-Tip from Our Locksmiths: The 78 crossbar is non-handed — same device works for LHR and RHR swings. That's a major advantage over the 55 Series narrow stile which is factory-handed. If you're not sure about handing at order time, the 78 takes the guesswork out.
