The Schlage 48029970 is the ND Series indicator spacer kit that adapts a status-indicator ND lockset to a thin door. Schlage builds the ND indicator chassis around a standard 1-3/4" door. When the opening is thinner — a 1-3/8" to 1-1/2" door, common on older interior partitions, closets, and light commercial millwork — the indicator trim and chassis need this spacer kit to sit correctly and read cleanly. This is the 1-3/8" to 1-1/2" door thickness kit in 626 satin chrome.

What this kit is for

If you are installing or servicing a Schlage ND indicator lock (the ones with the LOCKED/UNLOCKED, OCCUPIED/VACANT, or IN USE window) on a door thinner than 1-3/4", the indicator mechanism will not seat properly without the correct spacer stack. This kit supplies the spacers and hardware to close that gap so the indicator aligns, the through-bolts land, and the trim sits flush. Match the kit to the door: this one covers the 1-3/8" to 1-1/2" band. Thicker sub-standard doors use the 48029971 kit; the thinnest band uses 48029972.

It is a genuine Allegion / Schlage service part (Indication Components family), not an aftermarket substitute.
