Product Description
Protex PWS-1814E-FR Fire Rated Electronic Wall Safe
Same wall safe as the PWS-1814E but with fire-resistant insulation inside. If your house catches fire, the documents and cash inside this safe have a fighting chance. It costs about $120 more than the standard model and weighs 7 lbs more because of the insulation, but if you are storing irreplaceable documents — birth certificates, deeds, insurance policies — the fire protection is worth it.

| Spec source | Protex published specification for the PWS-1814E-FR, verified 2026-09-10. Dimensions are height x width x depth. |
Protex publishes no body dimensions for this model, only the rough opening and flange. This is a larger, heavier box than the PWS-1814E - do not assume the two share dimensions.
Measure the opening and the route in before you order — on a wall or through-the-door unit the wall thickness and the stud bay decide the job, not the safe.
