FV5009BN LD 628 96 36X84 Detex V50 Series Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device — Less Dogging, Satin Aluminum Clear Anodized
Fire-rated openings don't allow dogging — the door must latch positively every single time. The Detex FV5009BN is purpose-built for fire-rated exits where code prohibits any hold-open mechanism.
This is a fire-rated device. UL listed for up to 3-hour fire-rated door assemblies. Required for fire-rated openings per NFPA 80.

What's the maximum door height?
Standard configuration fits doors up to 36X84. Top and bottom rod lengths are field-adjustable. For doors exceeding standard height, verify rod lengths before ordering.
Can I add dogging to a fire-rated device?
No. Fire-rated openings require positive latching on every door closure per NFPA 80. This is why fire-rated models come with LD (Less Dogging) — dogging of any kind voids the fire rating.
Does Detex cover this under warranty?
Detex provides a limited lifetime warranty on mechanical components and 3 years on electronic components. This covers manufacturing defects — not field damage or improper installation.
