HPC CW-45SMS — Cutter Wheel, Flat Steel
The HPC CW-45SMS is a .045" combination standard / flat steel cutter. It is a .045" (1.14 mm) M2 tool steel combination standard/flat steel cutter. On 1200 Series machines it needs spacer No. SPR-5.
The cutter decides what the key looks like: the cut angle, the flat at the bottom of each cut, and a clean edge with no burr. A dull or wrong-profile cutter gives you keys that bind or will not turn. Match the cutter to the key system and to your machine, and swap it when cuts start coming out rough.
