Pro-Installer FAQ
Q: Does it come with a core?
A: No. It is sold less core. You add a 6 or 7-pin small format interchangeable core (SFIC) from your own system, so the padlock runs on the same keys as your doors.
Q: I need a longer shackle.
A: ABUS builds the 83WP-IC/53HB63 with a 2-1/2 inch shackle, and the 83WP/53 family takes replacement shackles such as the 8043 (3 in.).
Q: Is there a version for Schlage large format cores?
A: Yes. The 83WP-IC/53 LFIC-SCHLG takes Schlage large format cores.
